Watching something with renowned Physio Dr Kelly Starrett about fitness/mobility/health/exercise…He says that he often hears “How often should I …..?”Β to get a particular result – his answer was to have input every day.
He uses an interesting analogy to explain the concept of continuous maintenance of health to have an excellent quality of life (food/sleep/injuries/exercise etc.). The analogy was this – it is the same as obedient dogs; you maintain their level of obedience by maintaining your input. If you stop, they will stop being obedient! LOL – as a dog trainer, I often use the analogy of how you lose the results when you stop lifting weights, stop eating healthy etc, to explain the same concept!
